.. and lead lives with choice, freedom and have a good standard of living.
We will enable our children and young people to become:
Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
As a learning community, we value:
To be the best we can be in everything we do, we all need to:
Believe in ourselves and each other and in the future we want
Persevere with the things we find challenging to get the rewards we deserve
Succeed in learning, skills and personally in our own time and in our own way
Ysgol Rhydygors is committed to ensuring that all our learners have the best possible support in developing strategies that foster self-worth, self-belief and self-regulation that develop understanding and behavioural change to improve life outcomes. A place to celebrate and embrace difference, empowering all learners to reach for their dreams.
We are dedicated to enhancing the provision to ensure we have a welcoming, caring environment in which the educational and therapeutic needs of learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can be addressed effectively.
Curriculum design at Ysgol Rhydygors will encompass the academic rigours of the National Curriculum through a creative and personalised platform of learning. This will be fully complimented with access to a wide range of therapeutic, vocational and occupational opportunities that are driven by individual learner needs.
Ysgol Rhydygors will cultivate a learning environment built on mutual respect and ensure that learners’ rights, needs, aspirations and personal preferences remain central to the school’s organisation and learners are empowered to benefit from a meaningful, contributing and rewarding adulthood.
Ysgol Rhydygors will work in partnership with families, the wider community and other key players in the field of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and endeavour to keep abreast of leading edge research to ensure that the schools specialist facilities, staff expertise and other ALN related provisions are of the highest quality possible so all learners may benefit from equality of opportunity, regardless of the degree of their personal challenges.
